Multiple Springfield fires mean a busy day for Red Cross Volunteers

American Red Cross Greater Ozarks Region, 10/16/2011-

Disaster Action Team, Volunteer Responders for the Greater Ozarks
Region, responded simultaneously to two fires today, Sunday October
16th. While responding to an apartment fire at the Golden Pond
Apartments on Republic road, we were notified that additional assistance
would be needed across town at a 4 unit dwelling on the city's north
side.

Cases have been opened currently for 12 families with the possibility of
more as the situation at the apartment complex is further assessed. Our
assistance will allow the families who have been displaced by the fires
a place to stay for a few days while arrangements are made for them to
be relocated. We are here and ready to help with basic needs, shelter,
food and a change of clothing.
