FLOOD AND TORNADO DISASTER RELIEF OPERATION
RED CROSS ASSISTANCE AT-A-GLANCE AS OF NOON ON MAY 2, 2011 .
As a result of the Missouri storms, the Red Cross has had more than 800 community members staying in our shelters, 20,087 meals and snacks have been served, 12 Emergency Response Vehicles have been providing mobile feeding, 428 home clean-up kits, 1,057 hygiene kits, and more than 14,000 bulk items such as water, rakes, and gloves have been distributed. Over 350 Red Cross volunteers have been on scene throughout Missouri. Also, family disaster assistance cases have been opened with 483 people being helped. Your American Red Cross continues to provide assistance in Southeast Missouri to flood stricken area.

The Red Cross has also established several partnerships with churches in the area that are on stand by for sheltering.
If you are in need of sheltering or know someone that is need of assistance please have them call 211 in Missouri to be connected to the United Way. Why call 2-1-1? There are hundreds of reasons, but here are some basic reasons: counseling, education, temporary resources, volunteering and help locating shelters.
