WEST PLAINS, MO: The American Red Cross has opened a shelter for families displaced by today’s flooding.
The shelter, opened at the request of local emergency managers, is located at the First Baptist Church, 202 Walnut Street in West Plains.
“Five families displaced by flooding are currently staying at the shelter,” says Chris Harmon, the Regional Director of Emergency Services for the Greater Ozarks Chapter.
The shelter will be open overnight. A Red Cross disaster response team will assess the situation in the morning.
