Red Cross Helps Fire Victims
Six members of the Disaster Action Team from the Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross were dispatched to the scene of an apartment fire in Springfield today.
Volunteer caseworkers are currently meeting with and assessing the immediate needs of families affected by an apartment fire today in the Strawberry Fields complex near Sunshine and Kansas Expressway.
In addition to offering emotional support, the Red Cross will provide assistance with shelter, food and clothing as needed. Our caseworkers will follow up with family members to help them access other help in the community.
All Red Cross disaster assistance is a free gift from the community.
The vast majority of Disaster Action Team members are volunteers. Call the chapter office at (417) 832-9500 Ext. 200 to learn about upcoming trainings to join this dedicated team of volunteers.
