Red Cross Helps Family of Five

Springfield, MO –  A member of the Disaster Action Team (DAT) from the Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to a fire today (2-23-10) in Springfield (Greene County), which left five family members without a place to stay.  The family has two children, ages 7 and 3.  The residence was a single-family dwelling and it sustained major damage.

Jim Hogsott, DAT volunteer, met with the family and assessed their emergency needs.  They were provided assistance with temporary shelter, food and clothing.  Volunteer caseworkers will follow up with the family as they begin their recovery process.
