Update from Miami

On the third day of his volunteer assignment to support the Haiti relief effort, David Sewell writes to say, “I am currently working at the Disaster Operation headquarters at the Miami Red Cross Chapter office. I am, along with an excellent local Disaster Technology Team, supporting cell phones, laptops, and conference phones being used by local chapter and national volunteers and staff. The technology team also provides support on an ongoing basis making sure all of the laptops have Internet connectivity and the ability to print. This enables the large variety of Red Cross Disaster workers to access the databases and applications they need to provide assistance to the relief effort in an efficient manner.”
